Since the tandem version (dual seater) of Mirage 2000 doesn't have internal gun (Mirage 2000B/D/N), what about Rafale?
Is rafale B (dual seater) has gun or like its predecessor, gunless because tight of space (because additional seat).
Moreover, is rafale M carry internal gun too?
Thanks

Contrary to a common belief, there is a lot of room in the Rafale.
All Rafale have a gun, C, B and M.

When the Marine wanted a twin seater (Rafale N), they had to remove the gun because of the extra place occupied by the second seat and the bigger landing gear, but this version of Rafale was finally not developed.

May i ask which kind of bullets is it firering?
(DEFA had posted a very good sumary in air defence. He also said that there was somthing special with the integration of it. I'm still looking for it)

http://www.air-defense.net/forum/index.php?topic=10155.0
Informations provides by Pascal on air defense:
Quote:
The M791 has a theoretical rate of fire 2500 shots per minute. The shell that has been tested on this weapon is OSPEI (semi-piercing explosive incendiary).
This modern cannon, cousin of the one of the Tiger, the M791 gives the Rafale firepower of TWO Defa from the 2000 plane and other previous Dassault fighter.
Initial velocity of the shell is 1025 m / s to be compared to 810 of DEFA and the 1036 and the GAU-8 from the Warthog ...
Tighter trajectory, longer range, travel time divided by 1.5 when compared with DEFA.

According to B. Pieuchot from Nexter :

"It's the highest firring rate in the world form a single tube cannon. It was obtained by adopting a 7 room barrel against the 5 room of DEFA. This allow to limit the ammunition speed inside the weapon.
The M791 works thanks to gas-operated system (which mean : not electrically), unlike the Gatling (US Vulcan). It is there fore independent in energy and it reach it's maximum rate of fire within the second shoot (while it takes 1 second for the Gatling) without any inertia at startup."

However, this cannon was not intended to be used for AtG. Indeed, the tube is strictly horizontal while those of 2000 have a -2° deviation.

It store 125 shells which weights 275 g each for a total of 65 Kg. *
"magasin 125 obus 65 kgs chaque obus pèse 275 grs "

On an external weapon panel, you can select BEFORE the flight the length of brushes from 0.5 to 1 sec. Which mean 21 to 42 rounds. Moreover, the pilot can select limited brush (previously selected 21 or 42 rounds) or full auto in the cockpit

The sockets are ejected by ?
"Les douilles sont éjectées pas les maillons (trop légers ils partent n'importe où)."

"La ressource"? after firring is limited to 7/7.5G to not enter the sphere fragments and avoid the "aberrants" rounds
no comment ??

The cannon allow long range firing with a dive of 45°, a speed over 500 knots and a vertical speed of 186 m/s with a fall rate of 36000 feet per minutes.

All those criteria are impossible to reach for a propeller plane

Shooting distance from 800 to 1500 meters at that distance there is no curve path for the shell (better than the Oerlikon 30 from Viggen Ed).

The explosion of a OSPEI (combined with the kinetic energy) is equivalent to that of a hand grenade ...

The price of a shell must be that of a Toyota...
It seems, the crackling of the Rafale will rub the roaring of Warthog.
