Wasn't the deal more about using the antenna of the RBE2 rather than the entire radar?
And yes the Gripen should be able to use the Storm Shadow. A few years ago there were shots from trials with a Gripen C/D carrying 2 KEPD-350 Taurus, which are roughly equal in size and weight.
