At Fairford (RIAT 09) it won both :

Good news.

The weather was awful for most of the week but all in all it was a great event, the Show managers were delighted to have Rafale there (and we were blessed by a very colourful Dutch F-16 passing a 180* negative g turn too)...

FRENCH AIR FORCE JET MAKES RIAT DEBUT
A delta-winged, state-of-the-art multirole fighter that is the pride of the French Air Force will makes its Air Tattoo flying display debut at the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire on July 18-19.

Piloting the highly agile fighter will be Capitaine Francois Forget and Capitaine Cedric Ruet, from St Dizier Air Base, where the French Air Force's first Rafale squadron is based.

Rob Windsor, Head of Aircraft Operations at the Air Tattoo, said the display by the French Air Force Rafale would undoubtedly be one of the highlights of this summer's airshow.

He said: "It's a great honour to be chosen to stage one of the Rafale's first military displays in the UK. I think people will be impressed by the Rafale's awesome power and agility."

The versatile Rafale, is France's answer to the RAF Typhoon but with an added nuclear strike capability.

In another video, the Rafale pilot comments on the number of g he took during the Paris Airshow, (Ici? 1.0, 1.5 voir 11.0 g).

Two trophies for the Rafale

Captain Cedric Ruet, Rafale demonstrator achieved a historic double at the airshow Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT), held on 18 and 19 July 2009, Fairford, Great Britain.

The fighter pilot himself, winning two trophies in its first participation in RIAT:
Sir Douglas Bader Trophy Best Solo Display Team (first prize in the solo presentation awarded after the vote of a panel of English general of the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy) and the Royal Air Marshall Ben Crowley Milline equivalent price to the public.

For this first display in the UK, the fighter pilot performed in front of 20,000 people, along with a wide variety of aircraft which came to commemorate the 60th anniversary of NATO: Swiss F18, English, Finnish and Spanish Eurofighter Typhoon, Dutch and Belgian F16, Swedish and Hungarian Grippen, Boeing Steerman...

However, the season is not complete, the pilot of the fighter squadron 1/7 "Provence" based at Saint-Dizier and his team of engineers represent the French Air Force in Russia and Poland, from the end of August.

Well now i know why i can't find a RIAT topic on Air Force Monthly forum...

A detail about the 30,000 FH Rafale :

That's 30,000 in the Armée de l'Air ONLY... A lot of people (volontarily or not) confuse it with the whole Rafale fleet. Now, every reader of this forum should know (so I hope).

Yep figured it as well, especially when you look at it from the bottom side. You can also see 4 sqn badges on the bottom side of the outboard flaperons.
